KC Connection
Kilgore College’s Promise to Dual Credit Students
WHEREAS the Kilgore College Board of Trustees on March 4, 2019, created the Dual Credit Connection Plan
(hereinafter referred to as “KC Connection”); and
WHEREAS
KC Connection allows qualified Kilgore College Dual Credit Students to carry their 40% tuition
discount forward into Kilgore College following high school graduation; and
WHEREAS the 40% discount applies to the current rate of tuition and general education and out-of-district fees
at Kilgore College for any given semester of enrollment; and
WHEREAS the student tuition classification, as either an in-district or out-of-district resident, is applicable to
this contract; and
WHEREAS
to be eligible for KC Connection, the student must meet the following criteria:
•
Must have earned a minimum of 12 semester credit hours (“SCH”) of dual credit with Kilgore College
with a C (2.0) or better grade point average; and
•
Must have a declared major with Kilgore College and be making progress toward achieving a
credential; and
•
Must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) each academic year; and
•
Must complete a Kilgore College scholarship application; and
•
Must fill out a Kilgore College application for admission or dual credit transition form and meet all
Kilgore College admission requirements; and
•
Must be enrolled in the fall semester immediately following high school graduation; and
•
Must be continuously enrolled (at least fall and spring semesters) until degree and/ or certificate
completion; and
•
Must enroll in a minimum of 12 SCH per long semester (
NOTE:
6 SCH per 8-week term or an
alternate configuration reflecting full-time status) or a minimum of 6 SCH during the summer;
and
•
Must maintain a C (2.0) or better cumulative Kilgore College grade point average; and
•
Are limited to one certificate or degree unless the certificate is embedded within the degree.
NOW, THEREFORE,
in consideration of the mutual promises and covenants set forth in
this Contract, acknowledges the above recitals
