“Active Military Service of the United States” for the purposes of this affidavit is defined as active duty in the
Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, and Marines, Georgia National Guard or reservist for the aforementioned
branches of the military, who have been ordered to report for active duty for a period of more than thirty (30) days.

The military status of a defendant may be determined by conducting an on-line search through the Department of
Defense Service Members Civil Relief Act search engine at
https://scra.dmdc.osd.mil/ . A plaintiff using the
DMDC must attach a printed copy of the certificate generated by the search.
