GUIDANCE NOTES TO APPLY FOR HOUSE TO HOUSE COLLECTION LICENCE
1. Please complete the enclosed application.
2. For consideration of an application for a House to House Collection licence the following
documents must accompany the application form:-
a) Proof that the collection is bonafide by way of a letter on their official notepaper from
the Charity on whose behalf the collection is to take place.
b) The recent accounts of any charity which is to benefit.
3. The application package must be submitted no more than six months and no later than
one month in advance of the requested collection period.
4. The Council, upon receipt of such application, will carry out whatever investigations
they consider necessary before determining the application. The collection may not
proceed until the permit is granted, which will be for a maximum of one month at a time
and no more than three times in any one year.
5. The Council has the discretion to request submission of accounts for the House to
House Collection if they wish.
