HOME OCCUPATION AFFIDAVIT
I,
do fully understand that in order to obtain an
“Local Business Tax License-Home Business” to operate a home occupation in a residential unit, the
standards and agreement set forth below must be followed:
STANDARDS:
a) Business activities at the residential unit shall be clearly incidental and subordinate to
the residential activities;
b) All employees at the residential unit shall reside an occupy the residential unit as their
primary residence;
c) No goods shall be displayed for sale or as samples on site;
d) No goods for resale or services shall be dispensed directly on the site;
e) No customers shall be serviced in person on the site in any way nor shall the occupation
be conducted in any way which would necessitate customers visiting the site;
f) All goods, materials and/or equipment, other than motor vehicles, which are used off
site shall not be stored on site;
g) No signs relating to the home occupation or any business shall be located on the site;
h) There shall be no change in the outside residential character of the building or premises,
including swale area, as a result of the conduct of such home occupation;
i) There shall be no increase in traffic at the site as a result of the occupation; and
j) There shall be no increased demand on Town services at the site as a result of the
occupation;
AGREEMENT
The license applicant agrees that the home business will conform to all of the standards contained
herein and further agrees that the Town, upon probable cause to believe that there is a violation of
one or more of the standards so stated may inspect the property to determine if there is a violation.
Failure to allow an inspection will result in the automatic cancellation of the Certificate of Use and of
the Local Business Tax License. Failure to correct code violations, after notice, will also result in the
cancellation of the Certificate of Use and of the Local Business Tax License.
