Hodson Trust Teacher Fellowship Program Application
Available on the Annapolis Campus Only
The Graduate Institute in Liberal Education was founded in 1967 as a summer program intended
primarily for high school teachers. While the size and scope of the Institute have expanded over the
years, we seek to preserve a commitment to the education of teachers as a special part of our mission.
As part of this commitment, St. John’s College offers a special financial aid program for students who
are full-time primary or secondary school teachers. The Hodson Trust Teacher Fellowship Program is
funded through the generosity of the Hodson Trust, and offers a grant of 70% of cost during the summer
for eligible students. This Fellowship is limited to students from the states of Maryland, Virginia,
Washington DC, Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Connecticut and New York. Applicants must
complete this form and attach a letter from the principal of their school verifying their full time
employment as a teacher in the academic year prior to enrollment in the Institute.
Note: Applicants must also follow the application process for need-based financial aid.
