GRADUATE STUDIES FELLOWSHIP APPLICATION FORM
The Graduate Office at Alabama A&M University offers a range of fellowships to students with
demonstrated financial need. Among these are the need-based fellowship.
How to Apply Submit a completed Fellowship Application, including the Financial Aid Notification
Form, to our office. Deadlines are October 15 (for spring term) and April 1 (for fall and summer
terms).
Selection Awards will be based upon demonstrated financial need, the information
provided in the fellowship application, and the applicant’s essays.
Notification of Award
Within two weeks prior to program enrollment, students will receive early notification.
Student must accept the fellowship 48 hours after enrollment verification.
Summer Fellowship notifications are made as soon as possible after the program deadline.
Awards will be reflected as a credit toward the applicant’s tuition/fees cost, not as a check
or a refund to the recipient.
Funding will be awarded annually based on the availability of funds. Applicant must
reapply by the October 15th deadline
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants are accepted and enrolled in one of Alabama A&M University graduate
programs.
Applicants submit a completed fellowship application and supporting documents by
the listed application deadlines.
Applicant must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours (fall & spring) and 3 Credit
Hours (summer)
For continued support: Committee will review and evaluate the following criteria
o Must maintain a minimum G.P.A. of 3.0 and be enrolled in a minimum of 6
credit hours (fall & spring) and 3 Credit Hours (summer)
o Must be enrolled for the upcoming semester/term
o Notification of renewal will be submitted in writing prior to the beginning of
the upcoming semester.
o Have Program of Study on file with the Office of Graduate Studies by the end of
the first semester.
