The Golden Eagle FTP benefits Mississippi National Guard (MSNG) Members (Army and
Airforce) attending The University of Southern Mississippi as fulltime (12 Semester Hours)
students. Qualifying students must apply for State Education Assistance Program
(SEAP) or Federal Tuition Assistance (FTA), depending on their qualifications, as early as
possible to ensure MSNG and Southern Miss has adequate time for processing.
Participants in the Golden Eagle FTP acknowledge that their funds can be used in
conjunction with other benefits (Pell/State Aid/Scholarships) to ensure a zero tuition
balance. USM will have the ability to apply any remaining monetary allocation of SEAP
funds to the population of MSNG SEAP and FTA students. This program excludes
distance education fees above 12 Semester Hours, and distance tuition above the 12-19
Semester Hour Flat Rate.
