In the United States, only approximately 33% of the population has obtained a bachelor’s degree from a
college or university. In your opinion, what are the responsibilities that an educated individual has in our
society?
Scholarship Criteria:
The Goizueta Foundation Scholarship and Hispanic/ Latino Student Scholarship is need-based assistance
designated for Hispanic/Latino students that currently reside in the United States.
To be considered for the Goizueta Foundation Scholarship or the Hispanic/Latino Student Scholarship,
applicants must submit the following to the Office of Admissions by April 1, 2021.
o Application for admissions, official transcripts from all institutions attended, and SAT/ACT
official test scores.
o Scholarship application along with essay and resume attached.
o FAFSA (if applicable) at fafsa.ed.gov and Shorter University Financial Aid Application
(http://su.shorter.edu/financial-aid-forms/) must be completed.
o Students considered for the Goizueta Foundation Scholarship must be a U.S. Citizen and have at
least a 3.0 GPA to receive a partial to full tuition scholarship.
o Students considered for the Hispanic/Latino Student Scholarship can be a U.S. Citizen, DACA,
or Non-U.S. Citizen and must meet regular admission requirements to receive a $4000
scholarship for residential students or $2000 for commuter students.
If selected for this scholarship:
The scholarship will include any State and Federal Aid (if applicable). Residents of Georgia, who are
offered the Zell Miller, HOPE and GTEG grants, must accept these scholarships (if applicable).
The student recipient(s) of the Goizueta Foundation Scholarship must maintain 3.0 cumulative GPA
through completion of the degree; failure to do so will result in loss of scholarship. The student
recipient(s) of the Hispanic/ Latino Student Scholarship must remain in good academic standing through
the completion of the degree; failure to do so will result in loss of scholarship.
The scholarship will be granted for a maximum of eight semesters, excluding summer terms.
Student recipients will be notified officially by mail with a scholarship acceptance letter by mid-April and
must submit the enrollment deposit by May 1, 2021 to be eligible for the scholarship.
