MINIMUM ENROLLMENT REQUIREMENTS:
In order to receive financial aid (other than FWS), a JD student must be enrolled in at least 3 units for the summer
term. Students taking less than 3 units are not eligible for aid. Students who drop below the minimum unit
requirements after the funds have been disbursed will have their fall 2019/spring 2020 eligibility reduced by the
amount of aid they received for summer 2019.
FEDERAL WORK-STUDY:
If you will be participating in a summer apprenticeship or internship for which you will not be receiving
class/course credit and would like to receive Federal Work Study, please complete this section and the work study
placement form.

FINANCIAL AID WARNING
Students currently on financial aid warning who are planning on taking summer classes are required to meet with a
financial aid counselor upon submitting the summer financial aid application. In no circumstances will final
determination of eligibility and disbursement of summer funds happen prior to the middle of June 2019.
GGU STUDENTS ATTENDING ANOTHER INSTITUTION:
Financial aid for students attending a summer session through another ABA law school (visiting or study abroad) is
available. A student’s total eligibility will be determined by the host institution. Due to federal regulations,
disbursement of funds will be a few days before the actual start of your summer program. Please plan accordingly
and be prepared to cover any expenses prior to receiving funds. Students will need to submit the following
documents before an award notice can be generated:
• completed GGU Financial Aid Consortium Agreement;
• acceptance letter from the university/program you are attending;
• copy of your approved Transfer of Units form (units must transfer towards your JD degree).

if my enrollment plans change;

• If I am awarded/receive additional resources or scholarships, I will notify the Office of Financial Aid
immediately. I understand my aid will be adjusted accordingly;
• I must maintain satisfactory academic progress as defined by the GGU Student Handbook or risk
jeopardizing my future eligibility for financial aid;
• If I am currently on financial aid warning, my summer funds will not be disbursed to the school until all of
my spring 2019 grades have been posted and I earn a minimum cumulative required course GPA as
outlined in the Student Handbook.
