Career!and!College!Promise!Enrollment!Guidelines!
1. Career!and!College!Promise!Program!is!open!to!eligible!North!Carolina!high!school!students!in!order!to!accelerate!
completion!of!college!certificates,!diplomas,!and!associate!degrees!that!lead!to!college!transfer!or!provide!entry-level!
job!skills.!
2. Eligible!junior!and!seniors!are!allowed!4!tuition!free!semesters!at!GTCC!if!they!enter!at!the!be ginn ing!o f!their!jun ior!
year!and!enroll!in!college!classes!for!the!next!4!consecutive!semesters!(not!including!summer).!!Home!school!students!
must!be!making!academic!progress!towards!graduation!and!reclassification!of!homeschool!transcripts!is!prohibited.!
3. Students!are!responsible!for!all!fees,!supplies,!and!tex tbo ok s.!
4. Students!will!receive!college!semester!credit!hours!which!will!apply!toward!college!graduation!and/or!transfer.!!
5. All!coursework!at!GTCC!becomes!part!of!your!permanen t!aca de m ic!his tory.!!G rad es!rec eive d!a nd /o r!exce ssive !dro ps !
may!have!implications!involving!future!financial!assistance,!athletic!eligibility,!probation,!etc.!

Student!Responsibilities!
1. A!current!high!school!transcript!showing!junior/senior!status!and!a!3.0!GPA!is!req uired !before!registration.!!Students!in!
a!Career/Technical!Pathway!are!not!required!to!have!a!3.0!GPA;!however,!must!have!approval!from!HS!principal!or!
designee.!
2. Students!must!register!for!approved(classes!only.!Registering!for!non-approved!classes!will!result!in!a!loss!of!
registration!privileges.!!
3. Students!shall!conform!to!the!College’s!academic!rules!and!regulations!and!the!code!of!conduct!expected!of!all!college!
students.!
4. Students!will!be!subject!to!disciplinary!action!by!both!th e!co llege!an d!th e!high !sch oo l!as!a!resu lt!of!inap pro priate !
behavior!in!class!and/or!on!campus.!
5. Students!are!responsible!for!reviewing!and!abiding!by!all!academic!policies!as!listed!in!the!College!Catalog.!
6. Students!are!required!to!attend!class!on!time,!be!w ell!pre pa red ,!and !exh ibit!m atu re!co nd u ct!at!all!tim es.!
7. Students!are!required!to!attend!all!scheduled!classes!following!the!college!calendar,!which!may!vary!from!the!GCS!
calendar.!!!
8. Students!must!continue!to!make!progress!toward!high!school!graduation!and!maintain!a!2.0!GPA!in!college!co u rs ework!
after!completing!two!courses!to!maintain!eligibility!for!continued!enrollment.!
9. Students!must!complete!at!least!67%!of!all!coursework!attempted.!
10. Students!are!required!to!meet!with!the!College!Liaison!BEFORE!withdrawing!from!a!college!class.!

1. Concurrently!enrolled!stude nts!are!treated!like!every!other!college!student.!The!rules!regarding!student!records!are!
governed!by!the!Family!Education!Rights!and!Privacy!Act!(FERPA).!Academic!information!is!only!released!with!the!
written!consent!of!the!student.!
2. Your!son!or!daughter!will!be!exposed!to!a!diverse!population!in!educational!programs!designed!for!the!adult!learner,!
which!may!involve!sensitive!topics!that!might!be!considered!controversial!or!offensive!to!some.!!

2. Check!Eligibility!for!Enrollment!!
3. Select!a!Pathway/Course!!
4. Complete!the!Verification!of!Stu dent!Eligibility!Form!!
5. Submit!an!official!copy!of!your!high!school!transcript.!This!must!include!your!GPA!and!grade!level.!
6. Submit!an!official!copy!of!all!placement!test!scores!documenting!college!readiness.!
