Documentation requirements for registration in the City of Garland:
General Contractor Registration: Commercial and Single-Family Home Contractors must
supply a copy of the owners or principals drivers’ license. You may register as both a
Commercial and a Single Family Home General Contractor for the cost of $125; however, you
must provide all necessary documentation.
State Electrical Contractor Registration: Must supply copy of State Contractor License,
Master Electrician License, and Masters’ drivers’ license (www.tdlr.state.tx.us).
State HVAC Contractor Registration: Must supply copy of State HVAC License and license
holder’s drivers’ license (www.tdlr.state.tx.us).
State Plumbing Contractor Registration: Must supply copy of State Plumbing Master
License, State Insurance Coverage and Masters’ drivers’ license (www.tsbpe.state.tx.us).
State Irrigation Contractor Registration: Must supply copy of State Irrigators License and
the license holder’s drivers’ license (www.tceq.state.tx.us).
State Electrical Contractor Registration: Must supply copy of Master Sign Electrician
License, and Masters’ drivers’ license (www.tdlr.state.tx.us). This registration is in addition to
registering as a sign contractor.
