The Associate in Science degree is intended to enable students to satisfy equivalent lower-division college credit course requirements and to transfer,
with advanced standing, into comparable discipline area Bachelor of Science degree programs at Kansas Regents universities. Developmental
courses will not count toward fulfilling degree requirements (ENGL-090, ENGL-091, ENGL-098, ENGL-099, READ-092, READ-093, MATH-005,
and MATH-006). Official transcripts must be on file in the Registrar’s Office to receive credit for transfer courses toward graduation. Students
must complete a minimum of fifteen (15) of the last 30 credit hours at Garden City Community College (GCCC) to receive a degree.
Students will follow the guidelines of the catalog in effect at initial enrollment, provided they remain continuously enrolled. If a semester is skipped,
students will follow guidelines of catalog in effect when they returned.
The Associate in Science degree will be awarded upon satisfactory completion of a planned program of not less than sixty (60) college credits and a
cumulative GPA of 2.0 including the following distribution of credits:
