WRECKING PERMIT APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
1. Obtain all applicable signatures on the wrecking permit application.

2. After all applicable signatures are obtained, return to the One Stop Center
pay the permit fee and the demolition permit will be issued (see fee
calculation below).
3. Schedule inspection for open hole (this is to check that all of the structure
has been removed, see note below, and that the sewer laterals are
capped).
4. Schedule inspection for fill (this is to check that an approved fill material
has been used).
5. Schedule FINAL INSPECTION (after topsoil is graded and seeded).
I have read and understand the regulations regarding demolition procedures. I
realize that these procedures are a condition of my wrecking permit. There may
be other requirements or conditions above and beyond the ones listed above.

NOTE: Effective September 23, 1995, whenever buildings or structures are
demolished, all structural elements (footings, foundations, slabs, etc.) shall be
removed from above and below the surface. Once all of the structure has been
removed, only approved fill may be used. Per City of Dayton ordinance,
approved fill material is “pit-run” gravel, crushed gravel, or crushed limestone.
Topsoil shall be used to bring the land to finish grade and the lot shall be seeded.
The owner of the property may appeal to the Chief Building Official the
requirement to completely remove the structure. The Chief Building Official’s
decision may be appealed by requesting a hearing with the Nuisance Appeals
Board. This request must be made in writing within 15 days of the decision.
