3. Assessment Standard A1 Curriculum Standard C3
Assignments are appropriate for a college level course; outcomes are consistent and appropriate for college
credit.
Assignments meet the requirements outlined in the proposed department standards.
Assessments meet the methods used as on campus course sections (e.g. papers, portfolios, quizzes, labs).
Ask to see some papers, activities, or assignments generated thus far in the course. Are the depth and rigor
equivalent to the on-campus course? COVID-19; Collect a student sample (screenshot with redacted ID info) of a
CIHS student assessment used that follows with the campus course (submit both the CIHS and a campus similar
assessment). Share with each other and support how assessments are being conducted during this Distance
Learning time.
Comment on the instructor’s marking and grading. Does the instructor feel comfortable evaluating student work
or is there a need for more help? Is the Instructor’s evaluation of student work comparable to on-campus
evaluation?
Discuss continued rigor during this pandemic time. Does the instructor feel comfortable or need more help?
Discuss the student choice of S/N grading option. Most students should choose A/F grading and speak with
counselor/instructor before choosing the S/N option. Course Withdraw has been extended to April 30, 2020.

4. CIHA Interest
We are interested in getting feedback from others regarding the course, the students, anything germane to
UMC-CIHS policies, procedures or practices. If you have the opportunity to address the class please solicit
comments and record them below. COVID-19; Distance Learning/Minnesota state mandated Shelter in Place.
School buildings are shut down and P-12 students are taking courses in their home through Distance Learning.
