Makerspace Facilitators assist in all day-to-day operations of the Innovation Center, an interdisciplinary
makerspace. Facilitators lead tours for students and members of the public, facilitate training for student users
of the space, learn and help others learn to use a variety of physical and digital tools, e.g., hand and power tools,
3D printers, laser cutters, digital recording equipment, graphic design software, etc., and maintain the physical
space to ensure safe, clean, and efficient operations.
The most important skill a Makerspace Facilitator needs to have is a willingness to learn. Other important skills
include good written and verbal communication, an orientation toward creative problem solving, a friendly and
positive attitude, planning and organization skills, and a strong work ethic. Experience with digital graphics
programs, including Adobe Illustrator and CAD/3D design programs, and a passion for making things are
desired, but not required.
Flexible. The center is currently open Monday through Thursday, 9-5, and Friday by appointment. The ideal
candidate will have availability in their schedule to accommodate 4 hour shifts on days when they are
scheduled to work.
