Student Assistant will work under the direction of the College Nurse (Mary Hansen, RN) and the Student
Personnel Assistant (Jon Samet). Job duties will include reception/general office (phones, front desk, filing,
creating or copying documents), making appointments &/or keeping track of appointments and meetings on
SARS (soon to be MediCat, an electronic health record) and Outlook. Student Assistant will calendar activities
and make sure that the College Nurse is aware of any upcoming, assist with activities (workshops, groups,etc.),
create sign-in sheets, evaluations, posters/fliers for activities, etc.; will request printing and promotion via online
forms, and other duties as needed. Student Assistant will assist in campus first aid responses by recording time
and response information, will clean and stock the Wellness Services area, restock the brochures and written
info in hall and racks, and track use of and stock the food in the Student Food for Falcons cabinets.
Experience with computers and programs helpful. We will soon be changing to a new electronic health record
system, so comfort with and aptitude for technology is a plus. Familiarity with Microsoft products like Word,
Excel and Outlook is needed to work in calendars, with email, and to create flyers, PowerPoint presentations,
and documents. Student must be able to write legibly and have good grammar and writing skills for emails, etc.
Student will understand the need for /importance of student wellness and be able to work independently in
anticipating needs of Wellness Services (cleaning, restocking, meeting reminders, printing and promotion of
activities, etc.) Telephone reception and general filing skills needed. Student should be a good communicator
and enjoy working with and helping others. A tuberculosis test may be required. CPR with AED training and
certification is a plus.
Varied - Monday to Thursday between 8:30am to 5:30pm, with occasional Friday &/or possible (rare) evenings.
