Three 9 credit-hour tuition waiver scholarships and
Three 6 credit-hour tuition waiver scholarships for the
Fall 2016 – Spring 2017 semesters
Application packet due: April 28, 2016
(by 4:00pm)
Recipients of the FTS tuition waiver will receive Fall 2016 and Spring 2017 credit hours
of tuition at McHenry County College. The scholarship does not pay for fees or books.
Recipients must meet ALL of the qualifications to be considered:
Enroll in at least six (6) credits Fall and Spring semesters 2016-2017
Have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA
Be a Fast Track Degree seeking student in Business Management, Construction
Management, Engineering Technology or Manufacturing Management
Have completed at least half of the degree program (30 credit hours)
Demonstrate a financial need

Fast Track Scholarship 2016-2017
Recipients of the scholarship will receive credit hours of tuition (up to 9 or up to 6,
depending on the award) at McHenry County College. The scholarship does not pay
for fees or books. Recipients MUST:
Enroll in at least six (6) credits Fall and Spring semesters 2016-2017
Have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA
Be in a Fast Track cohort seeking a degree in Business Management,
Construction Management, Engineering Technology or Manufacturing
Management
Have completed at least half of the degree program (30 credit hours)
Demonstrate a financial need
An acceptable professional portfolio will have three completed sections
submitted at one time.
Neatness and presentation count!
Transcripts or letters mailed separately will not be accepted.
Your portfolio must include:
1. Section One: Introduction
Completed Fast Track Scholarship Application
One or two typed paragraphs (written by you) introducing yourself and
explaining why you are applying for the Fast Track Scholarship, and what
prompted you to enroll in the Fast Track
MCC transcript showing courses, grades, GPA (unofficial is acceptable)
2. Section Two: Letters of Recommendation
At least two letters of recommendation from any of the following parties
o Fast Track Instructor (present or past)
o Current Employer
o Former Employer
3. Section Three: Essay
Write an essay of 300-600 words describing the following (the essay must
be typed):
o Your educational and career goals
o Your financial need
o How earning the degree will benefit you
o Reasons why you should receive the scholarship
All submitted materials become the property of MCC and cannot be returned to or copied for the student.
