First Year Applicants:

A minimum of 16 units earned in grades
9-12. Your program of study must
include the following:

Official High School Transcript
Attention is given to rigor of course-
work, grades earned, and grade
trends.
Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT)
or American College Test (ACT)

Composite scores are reviewed with
attention given to reading and math.
If English is your second language,
submit scores on the Test of English
as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the
International English Language
Testing System (IELTS). Meredith
requires our own writing sample
therefore, the essay portions of the
SAT and ACT are not required.
Recommendations from
school officials
Using the enclosed forms, please
provide recommendations from school
officials. The Secondary School Report
should be completed by your high
school counselor or other administra-
tor. The Teacher Recommendation
should be completed by a teacher who
has taught you in an academic subject
in your junior or senior year.
Interviews/Campus Visits
A campus visit is strongly recom-
mended. To schedule a visit and/or
admission interview, contact the Office

The Office of Admissions may request
an interview, additional writing sample
and/or additional recommendations.
Admissions Procedures
A complete application includes:
• completed and signed application,
including essay
• $40 non-refundable application fee
or acceptable fee waiver (checks
and credit cards accepted)
• Official transcript
• School Report - School Offical
Recommendation
• Teacher Recommendation
• SAT/ACT scores
Home-Schooled Students
In addition to items listed above please
submit:
• official transcript from each tradi-
tional high school attended (if any)
• one recommendation from a refer-
ence who is not related to the
applicant (if applicable)
• interview with an admissions officer
Early Decision Plan
(see page 11)
If Meredith is your first choice for col-
lege, apply under the Early Decision
Plan. The ED agreement is binding. If
accepted you will:
• enroll at Meredith;
• withdraw applications from all
other colleges; and
• submit a non-refundable $300
deposit by December 15.
To apply, check the First Year Early
Decision box on your application and
submit your completed and signed ap-
plication with supporting credentials by
October 30. You must also submit the
Early Decision Plan form on page 11.
You will receive an admissions decision
by November 15. If you also wish to
receive an early decision financial aid
estimate, the FAFSA must be received
by November 10. You will receive an
award by December 1. If your award
is estimated, a final award will be
confimed when federal and state need-
based aid award amounts are made
available to colleges and universities.
Financial Aid
The Free Application for Federal
Student Aid (FAFSA) is required for ap-
plicants wishing to receive federal and/
or state aid. Early Decision FAFSA
Priority Date: Nov. 10; Early Action
FAFSA Priority Date: Jan. 15; Regu-
lar Decision FAFSA Priority Date:
Feb. 15. FAFSA’s received Feb. 15 will
be considered with preference given
to those received by February 15.
The FAFSA is available beginning
October 1 at FAFSA.ed.gov.
Competitive Scholarships
Meredith Impact Scholarships – New
scholarships for members of the Class
of 2024 and onward. Admitted first-year
students with a minimum 3.3
unweighted GPA and minimum 1100
SAT/22 ACT are guaranteed a minimum
$20,000 annual scholarship award,
renewable for four years. No separate
application needed. Students with
exceptional qualifications will be
considered for additional scholarship
awards at the time of admission.
Students who do not qualify for the
Impact Scholarship may qualify for other
merit-based scholarships or tuition
grants from Meredith College.
Academic Merit Scholarships – Your
complete Application for Admission is
your application for merit scholarships.
No additional application is required.
Talent Scholarships – Separate
applications are required for Art, Interior
Design, Music, and Theatre
scholarships. Deadline: January 15; you
must also be admitted to the College by
January 15. Apply Early Decision or Early
Action.
Meredith Legacy and Presidential
Scholarships – Your complete
Application for Admission and your
Honors Application serve as your
Meredith Legacy and Presidential
Applications. You must be admitted to
the College and submit your Honors
Application by January 15 to be
considered. Apply Early Decision or
Early Action.
Other Scholarships – Thomas
Meredith, Paschal and AWE STEM (for
students with mathematics, engineering,
biology, or chemistry interest), Service,
and Teaching Fellows Scholarships
require submission of scholarship
applications. You must be admitted to
the College and submit all components
of scholarship application(s) by January
15 to be considered. Apply Early
Decision or Early Action.
Honors Program
for gifted and motivated students
seeking an enriched academic program.
You must be admitted to the College
and submit your Honors Application by
January 15 to be considered. Apply
