Licence to Publish
In order to publish your Article we need your agreement in writing. Read this Licence carefully, and if you
are happy with its terms, please scan and email, or post, the completed and signed form to the following
address:

1. By signing this form, you (the Author(s) or other Copyright Owner) agree to grant to us, BCS
Learning & Development Ltd (BCS L&D), the exclusive first publication licence of the Article
throughout the world to do the following:
i. to publish your Article (including the abstract) in the above Series, either within the Series, on
its own, or with related material and/or in any way make your Article publicly available
throughout the world, in printed, electronic or any other format or medium whether now know
or hereafter devised, either free of charge or for financial consideration;
ii. to make translations and abstracts of the Article and to distribute them to the public; to
authorise or grant licences to third parties to do any of the above.
2. You warrant, on behalf of all the Authors, that
i. you are authorised by all Authors to enter into this agreement on their behalf;
ii. the Article is your original work, has not previously been published and is not currently under
consideration for publication elsewhere;
iii. you have obtained all necessary unrestricted permissions for use of material that is someone
else’s copyright (please attach evidence of this) and that the material is clearly identified and
acknowledged within the text;
iv. the Article does not, to the best of your knowledge, contain anything that is libellous, illegal, or
infringes anyone’s copyright or other rights. You will indemnify BCS L&D against all losses
including any legal costs and any compensation costs and disbursements paid by BCS L&D
in respect of any breach of this warranty, or of any claim alleging that the Article constitutes a
breach of this warranty.
3. You assert your moral right to be identified as the author(s), and we promise that we will respect
your rights as the author(s). That is, we will make sure that your name(s) is/ are always clearly
associated with the article and, while you allow us to make necessary editorial changes, we will
not make any substantial alterations to your Article without consulting you.
4. Your Article will be published under Creative Commons Attribution CC-BY licence
(http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/), which allows unrestricted use, distribution and
reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly attributed in the following form:

[specify relevant url]
5. Copyright remains yours or your employers, and we will acknowledge this in the copyright line
which appears in your Article.
6. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained in this Licence:
i. This Licence shall take effect as a non-exclusive licence in respect of any parts of the article
as were written by the Author(s) in the course of employment by the British Government and
copyright of such parts of the Article shall be reserved to the Crown.
ii. This Licence shall take effect only to the extent permitted by the laws of the United States of
America if and to the extent that the Article or any part of the Article was written by an
author(s) in the course of employment by the United States Government.
BCS L&D will keep the information you have provided for record purposes; you permit your name and
address to be reproduced in the above Series and on indexing and abstracting and bibliographic services.
Your details will not be used for any other purpose.
