Who can be a Student Ambassador?
A Student Ambassador:
is a current OCC student taking a minimum of 6 credits
per semester
has completed 12 credit hours at OCC (at the time
of application)
has a cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher
is available to serve as an ambassador during the
fall and winter semesters
What do Student Ambassadors do?
Ambassadors work 50 hours per semester, for both the
fall and winter (a total of 100 hours), in the following areas:
Providing assistance at the welcome areas on campus
Representing the College at campus events
Working with faculty and staff to promote and support
campus activities
Guiding students to rooms and events during the first
week of classes
Attending 10 hours of leadership training meetings
during the semester
HOW DO I APPLY ?
Fill out the application (attached)
Attach a brief, one page, typed essay stating why you
are interested in becoming an OCC Student
Ambassador. Include experiences, strengths, goals, etc.
Attach a copy of your OCC transcripts
Turn application, essay, and transcripts to the
Campus Dean of Student Services.
RETURN completed

NOW BEING ACCEPTED FALL/WINTER 2019-20
Student Ambassadors at OCC
support college activities and reach out to current students to make them
aware of the programs and services available through OCC. In exchange for their service, ambassadors receive excellent
resume building leadership training and experience, a letter of appreciation from the Vice Chancellor of Student Services
(great for a career portfolio), and a $500 OCC scholarship, per semester, for a total scholarship of $1,000.
