CHECKLIST
Start & grow the handmade business
of your DREAMS.
Grow Handmade
@growhandmade
WHO AM I?
My name is Brittni, and I'm the content creator behind Grow
Handmade. I have attempted to start my own handmade
business multiple times, only to fail and have my self
confidence crushed in the process.
Grow Handmade
In the beginning of 2020, I decided to ditch the pity party I'd
been throwing for myself. I took everything I had learned,
and tried again. This time intentionally and strategically.
AND IT WORKED.
I hit 100 sales within 6 weeks of opening up my shop. 2 weeks
later, I hit 200 sales.
With only 5 products.
CREATING MY DREAM LIFE
The growth hasn't stopped there. I am on a trajectory of
hitting $10k months by the end of 2020.
With 30 products total. In no special unicorn niche. With no
special unicorn talent.
Grow Handmade
My biggest lesson in running a handmade business is that
it's not enough to have an amazing product.
You need strategy. Tried & true
technique.
If you want to turn your handmade passion into a profitable
business like I have, this is the best place to start.
Because of finally working
through limiting beliefs,
chasing my goals relentlessly,
and most of all taking
STRATEGIC ACTION ,
by the time our next baby
arrives (Nov 2020), my family
will be home together full time,
running the handmade shop of
our DREAMS.
HOW TO USE THIS
CHECKLIST
This checklist is for ONE LISTING AT A TIME.

Grow Handmade
Taking your time with each
listing will ensure you have
strong SEO in place to start
getting eyes on your
products. If your tags aren't
generating traffic within a
few weeks, try out some
new ones to find what
works for you.
Etsy SEO // PHOTOS
Your photos are like the first impression you get with your
customer. You want to draw them in with the first photo,
and then convince them with the rest of the photos.

Etsy SEO // TAGS
Using the free online tool erank, come up with 13 niche tags.
Most of your tags should show up as green in erank
(competition ranking less than 50,000). A few can be in the
red, but not much higher than 50,000 ranking.

Etsy SEO // TITLE
Your title should contain your STRONGEST keywords. It
should be written for humans, not an algorithm, and entice
people based on your item's best features.
Grow Handmade
For example, I sell bath bombs. My strongest tags are
vegan and zero waste. But I also want to include the
specific qualities of that particular item in my title.
An example of a title on one of my Bestsellers is:
"Lavender Infused Vegan Bath Bomb with Zero
Waste Packaging." Short, to the point, but hits on the
strongest keywords.
Etsy SEO // DESCRIPTION
Etsy doesn't actually use your description to rank you in search.
But, it is still a super important piece of the puzzle. You still want
your description to be chockfull of keywords for search engines
like Google. But remember -- write to a human, not a robot!
Grow Handmade
Describe your item. Get creative and use lots of colorful
adjectives. Naturally weave in keywords. 1 paragraph.
Important info they might need (size of item, quantity,
specifications, etc.)
Ingredients or Materials if relevant.
Instructions or Disclosures if relevant.
Your description should read like this:
1.
2.
3.
4.
PULLING IT ALL
TOGETHER
Now that your listings are optimized for search . . .
