DEPARTMENT: AMBULANCE WEST NIPISSING
POSITION: ONE (1) TEMPORARY PART TIME PRIMARY CARE PARAMEDIC
SITE: NBRHC WEST NIPISSING
HOURS: DAYS, EVENINGS, NIGHTS AND WEEKENDS
SALARY: $38.003 (Min.) - $40.27 (Max.)
Pay rate, benefits and other terms and conditions are as per the CUPE (Local 139) Collective Agreement
QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:
Successful completion of an Emergency Care/Paramedicine program recognized by the Ministry of
Health in the province of Ontario
Current certification as A-EMCA is required
Certification as a Primary Care Paramedic in the Province of Ontario is required
Current CPR (HCP) certification required
Minimum one year paramedic experience an asset
Able to meet the physical demands required to provide care to all patients required
Good knowledge of Base Hospital Policy and procedures, related Acts and Regulations is an asset
Ability to work under stressful situations and exercise sound judgement in all emergencies
Ability to identify patient treatment needs through assessment and provide appropriate care
Excellent level of written and verbal communication skills required
Good attendance and work record required
Valid class F Driver’s licence with clean Driver’s Abstract required
Must be able to function both independently and as an active member of the multi-disciplinary team in
caring for all levels of patient acuity required
Must demonstrate commitment to ensure their safety, the safety of fellow workers, patients,
Volunteers and visitors.
Must support and contribute to a culture of safety and prevention of adverse health events in this
organization
Bilingualism (Advanced level English/French) is required. All unilingual candidates are encouraged to apply
and may be considered if the identified French requirement has been met or there are no successful bilingual
candidates. A formal French test will be conducted to evaluate the proficiency level.
