FEDERAL DIRECT LOAN CERTIFICATION FORM FOR 2015-2016
Continuing students for the 2015-2016 academic year who previously received a Federal Direct Loan at North Carolina A&T
State University should have a signed Master Promissory Note (MPN) on file. The MPN allows students to receive additional
funding (within eligibility) without signing another note.
Note: In order for your Direct Loan to be credited to your account the following must occur:
• First-time borrowers at NC A&T State University must sign an Electronic Promissory Note if a loan was not received for
the previous academic year. You must sign the note at www.studentloans.gov
.
• As a first-time borrower, you are required to complete an Entrance Counseling Session. The Entrance Counseling Session
may be completed at www.studentloans.gov
.
• Accept your loan on AggieAccess on-line or complete and return the Certification Form to the Office of Student Financial
Aid.
• You must be enroll at least half-time (6 hours for Undergraduate
and at least 5 hours of graduate courses for
Graduate students) to receive a Federal Direct Loan.
We will receive electronic notification after you have successfully completed the Entrance Counseling Session and sign your
Electronic Promissory Note.
****If you are a first-time undergraduate borrower your loan will not be disbursed until 30 days from the first day of
classes. Loans for less than full-time students will not be disbursed (credited on your account) until a week after
the date established to add or drop courses. Please note: When your funds are credited to your account, this is not
your refund date. Refunds are generally ready the week after disbursement****

This is to certify that I have borrowed through the Federal Direct Student Loan Program for the 2015-2016 academic year. I
understand that my award notification or the Direct Loan Disclosure Statement (mailed to me from the US Department of
Education) will serve as notice of the amount and type of loan borrowed. I also understand that I have the right to cancel or
reduce my loan within 14 days of disbursement. I understand that my loan will be disbursed in two payments, one half the
first semester and the remainder the second semester. Students who are borrowing a loan for one semester should
expect to receive the first disbursement at the beginning of the semester and the second disbursement after the mid-
point of the semester.
