4. The next EMDP2 board is tentatively scheduled for January 2021. Information pertaining to the
upcoming board will be forthcoming in the summer of 2020.
5. Request the following information/actions be taken immediately:
a. Personnel relocations must counsel members who have join-spouse applications on file, under the
guideline of AFI 36-2110, Total ForceAssignments, Attachment 8 – Assignment of Military Couples.
b. If there are any medical conditions subsequently identified since the board date (i.e. ALCs C2, C3,
or AACs 31 and 37) instruct the select to submit an updated AF Form 422, Notification of Air Force
Member’s Qualification Status (Physical Profile) from the Flight Surgeon to AFPC/DP2NP.
6. Promotion:
a. Promotion for SrA selected to EMDP2: Selects in the grade of SrA (E4) who have obtained the
required service retainability are promoted to SSgt (E5) 1 day before their scheduled permanent
change of station departure. Ensure the select understands that one of the reasons for promotion is to
offset the costs associated with the move.
b. Since entitlements are based on the individual’s grade upon departure, leaving prior to promotion to
SSgt will affect entitlements. Include in the PCS orders (AF Form 899): “Promote Airmen in
grades SrA and below to SSgt effective 1 day before their scheduled PCS departure.” MPF will
publish promotion orders and dispatch a grade correction message to AFPC/DP2SP according to AFI
36-2502, Airman Promotion Program, paragraph 4.1.3.
c. Individuals with a projected promotion to TSgt or above will retain their promotion sequence number
and be promoted when incremented, regardless if it occurs before or after the Airman enters the
commissioning program.
7. In accordance with AFI 36-2606, Reenlistments in the United States Air Force, paragraph 5, ensure
Airmen extend or reenlist to have 5 years retainability not earlier than 45 days prior to class start date.
Reenlistment/extension must be completed prior to departure from current station.
8. Entry into the EMDP2 supersedes all other assignment actions. Any pending action will be cancelled.
9. Questions regarding this action should be addressed directly to Physician Education (AFPC/DP2NP),
DSN 665-0655 or commercial (210) 565-0655.
