Deadline: Submit your application form by the last day of exams in any semester. In
addition, before submitting the application, arrange for UNBC unofficial
transcripts to be sent to the Department of Psychology upon release of final
grades. If needed also arrange for official transcripts from institutions other than
UNBC to be sent to the Department of Psychology, 3333 University Way, Prince
George, BC, V2N 4Z9. The above must be received before final decisions about
admittance to the honours program can be made.

APPLICATION FOR B.Sc. (HONOURS) DEGREE IN PSYCHOLOGY
Acceptance into the Honours program is competitive. The following conditions must be met:
a) you must have completed 60 credit hours of University courses,
b) you must have minimum GPA of 3.33 (B+) calculated on the last 60 credit hours completed at
the time of application.
c) a faculty member in psychology must be willing to supervise your thesis research.
On acceptance into the Honours program, you must:
a) complete a Declaration of Major form. Pick up a Declaration of Major form from the
registrar’s office. On the form, check the “Psychology Honours BSc” box and complete your
personal information on the top of the form.
b) meet with the chair of the Department of Psychology. He or she will discuss with you the
expectations of the Honours program, and will then sign your Declaration of Major form and
forward it to the Registrar’s Office.
c) meet with the Psychology Student Advisor in the Registrar’s Office. He or she will review your
course schedule with you, and help you determine the best course of action for successful
completion of your BSc Hon. in Psychology program.
For continued registration and completion of the Honours program, you must:
a) maintain a Semester GPA of 3.33, and receive no grade lower than a C+ in any Psychology
course after entry to the Honours program.
b) complete Psyc 315 and Psyc 316 before registering in Psyc 490 and Psyc 495.
c) complete Psyc 490 and Psyc 495 in your final year of study.
d) complete two additional 400-level Psychology courses.
