DECELERATION for M1 STUDENTS
An admitted applicant or current medical student may request a decelerated curriculum which enables the
student to pursue M1 pre-clinical studies across two years rather than one year. More information about
the decelerated curriculum can be found in the Medical Student Handbook. The request to decelerate must
be submitted between the time of admission and November 15 of the M1 year. Once a request is approved,
a student may not revert to the traditional curriculum. All students pursuing this option are encouraged to
discuss this with their deans, the Office of Financial Aid and the Office of Student Accounts.
