Guidance for Nominators
About this Scholarship
Every year Concordia University welcomes exceptional international students from all over the world to study, research
and innovate at our thriving institution.
The Concordia Presidential Scholarship is a newly established award aim to acknowledge students who demonstrate
academic excellence, community leadership and motivation to better the global community. Each year, two renewable
full fight scholarships, which include tuition and fees, books and living costs

for 4 years, will be awarded to candidates
from any faculty.
Student Eligibility
The Concordia Presidential Scholarship is open to all students who will meet the following requirements:
First time attending university.
Studying full-time in a degree program.

International student, paying full international student rate.
Starting studies at Concordia University in Fall 2020.
The Application Process
The applicant must complete the application package and send it via email to fundingyoureducation@concordia.ca
. The
package must include the following:
The Student Application Form which includes nominator’s information.
A current curriculum vitae that outlines all their work, volunteer experience, accolades, cultural, and other
accomplishments.
A 1000-word limit personal statement that
expresses their community leadership and commitment to
bettering the global community, and explains how receiving this scholarship will help in the pursuit
of their studies and the fulfillment of their personal and academic aspirations.

As a nominator, you play an important role in aiding the selection committee to distinguish the outstanding nature of your
applicant. You, in support of the student and as their nominator, must then complete your application package and submit
it via email to fundingyoureducation@concordia.ca
. The package must include the following:
The Nomination Form
A confidential 1000-word limit personal statement that reflects your honest testimonial of the applicant’s
qualifications. This statement must outline how long you have known the student and your relationship with
them, why you believe the student is deserving of this scholarship, how you feel that this student has expressed
community leadership and commitment to bettering the global community, and how you feel that this scholarship
will help this student pursuit their studies and fulfill their personal and academic aspirations.
The Selection Process
Once your application package has been received, you will receive an email confirmation from the Financial Aid and
Awards Office. Upon the receipt of both the applicant’s and your package, they will be presented to Concordia’s
Undergraduate Scholarships and Awards Committee for review. Decisions will be communicated to the applicants via
email.
Application Due Date
For the academic year 2020-2021, all applications and supporting documents for both applicant and nominator, must be
submitted via email to fundingyoureducation@concordia.ca
no later than Sunday, February 1, 2020 at 23:59 EST.
