This checklist should be used to identify specified systems within buildings in accordance with Building Act 2004.
Please identify specified systems by nominating the appropriate boxes and include maintenance and inspection
requirements as provided by owner / designer.

Does your building require a Compliance Schedule?
DWELLING UNITS:
If your dwelling contains a cable car you must obtain a Compliance Schedule.
OTHER BUILDINGS:
If your building contains any of the following Specified Systems you must obtain a valid
Compliance Schedule:
Sprinkler systems.
Fire alarm systems.
Automatic doors and/or windows.
Security controlled doors that prevent free passage to parts of the building.
Electromagnetic devices that hold doors open or closed located in a Fire Separation.
Emergency lighting.
Mechanical ventilation systems required by Building Code (ie: toilets in a restaurant).
Mechanical extraction systems required by Building Code (ie: commercial cooking exhaust).
Mechanical air handling systems used for escape route pressurisation.
A system of water supply lines used for fire-fighting purposes.
Backflow prevention devices protecting the potable water supply.
Lifts/escalators/moving walks.
Fixed mech./elec. equipment located outside the building used for maintenance (ie:
window cleaning gantry).
Laboratory fume cupboard with ducted exhaust.
Closed Circuit listening devices for people with hearing disabilities, found in
auditoriums or meeting rooms.
Mechanical means of controlling smoke in the event of a fire (ie: smoke control system).
Natural means of controlling smoke in the event of a fire (window or panel that opens in a fire).
Smoke curtains required by Building Code (ie: theatre).
Emergency Power System (ie: diesel generator, for the operation of S.S.’s 1-13).
P.A. system that can be used to facilitate evacuation (if the building has S.S.’s 1-6, 9 or 13).
Final Exits (if the building has S.S.’s 1-6, 9 or 13).
Fire Separations (if the building has S.S.’s 1-6, 9 or 13).
Smoke Separations (if the building has S.S.’s 1-6, 9 or 13).
Signs for S.S.’s 1-13 (ie: max. occupancy for a lift, if the building has S.S.’s 1-13).
Exit signs (if the building has S.S.’s 1-6, 9 or 13).
Cable Car.
Attach Specified System Forms SS1 SS16
Please complete the “Compliance Schedule Specified Systems Form SBCG27” and
attach the applicable specified system forms (one for each system present in the
building). These forms provide the details of their performance standards, and their
inspection and maintenance regime planned.
These forms are required to be submitted with your application for Building Consent.
