Task: Following the steps listed in the procedure, prepare a check and corresponding check stub.
Supplies & Conditions: In a simulated medical office situation, given the necessary equipment, a payee, the amount due,
a signature name, and a previous balance, prepare a check and stub following the steps of the
procedure. The check must be without error and contain the five essential factors, and the stub
entries must agree with the check information, with the balance accurately figured. Procedure
Form 32–1 can be used to complete this activity.
Standards: A maximum of three attempts may be used to complete the task. The time limit for each attempt
is 10 minutes, with a minimum score of 85 percent. Scoring: Determine student’s score by
dividing points awarded by total points possible and multiplying results by 100.

the Student Companion website; procedure scenarios are included in the Instructor’s Manual.
