PUBLIC SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
Every building which occupies any portion of public property after sundown shall have sufficient lights
continuo
usly burning between
sunset and sunrise for the protection of the public. There shall be a minimum of five red lights placed on each street side of the
building. Such red lights shall be attached to the building in such a fashion as to indicate extreme width, height, and size. In addition
to the red lights on the building, flares shall be placed at regular intervals for a distance of 200 ft. (61 m) up the street on each side of
the building. When more that 50% of the street, measured between curbs, is occupied at night by the building, or when in the opinion
of the building official, flagmen are necessary to divert or caution traffic, the owner or person moving such building shall employ at
their expense, two flagmen, one at each street intersection beyond the building. Such flagmen shall remain at these intersections
diverting or cautioning traffic from sunset to sunrise. Red lights shall be employed in flagging traffic at night. Any
buil
ding being
moved for which permit was granted shall not be allowed to remain in or on the streets for more than 48 hours.
Payment of permit fees does not guarantee approval of this application. Should the permit application be denied, and there is no
violation of any code or law of the City of Tomball, the fees will be refunded via the City’s Accounts Payable Department.
By signing the front of this form I agree to follow the Code of Ordinances for the City of Tomball and any associated laws

in the City of Tomball, Harris County and the State of Texas. I also understand that any structure being moved into the city limits
must be accompanied by an application for a building permit with complete plans and specifications, bearing the
Engineer/Arch

seal, showing the changes or conditions of said structure. A Certificate of Occupancy must be issued before moving into the
structure for which this permit is issued. Permits expire after 180 days.
**Contractor must provide Liability Insurance with a minimum of $500,000 of combined single limit coverage Equal to or Greater than the
contract amount, whichever is greater. The City of Tomball must be listed as the “Certificate Holder” on the policy.
**Property Owner or Authorized Agent must sign the Moving Application form.
