Scholarship Program 2018-2019
This document describes the details of establishing the Concrete & Aggregates
Association of Louisiana Scholarship program:
Purpose of the Scholarship:
The purpose of this scholarship is to increase awareness and promote the transportation
engineering profession among undergraduate students enrolled in civil engineering or
construction management curriculum at an accredited four-year college or university in
Louisiana.
Amount and Distribution of Scholarships
A total of three $1,000 (each) scholarships will be awarded to qualified applicants among
Louisiana colleges/universities offering civil engineering and construction management
curriculum.
Scholarship Eligibility
The scholarship will be presented to college sophomores, juniors or seniors who are U.S.
citizens or U.S. permanent residents and already enrolled in a full-time civil engineering
or construction curriculum at an accredited Louisiana four-year college or university.
The Application Package
Applicants are required to submit a single electronic (PDF) document through the
scholarship office at their university. The PDF document shall include the following
components:
1. Completed scholarship application form (with essay);
2. Letter of recommendation from two faculty members; and
3. Current academic transcript.
NOTE: Documents submitted separately, in piecemeal fashion, will NOT be reviewed.
The deadline for receipt of applications to CAAL is December 17, 2018. The chairs, or
their designees, should email the completed students' applications to Mr. William
Temple, Executive Director of CAAL at btemple@caal.org.

Note: for LSU, the complete application should be submitted to the CoE
Scholarship Office at coescholarships@lsu.edu no later than noon on
12/17/2018. Incomplete applications will not be forwarded to CAAL.
