More detailed information on the reclassification process can be found in the online CSEA collective bargaining
agreement, Article 5.13, Reclassification Procedures. The following is the Reclassification Schedule for the
2013-2014 process:
Reclassification Timeline
11/15 through 12/16 Reclassification window period.
January thru March Committee reviews requests and establishes interview and final
recommendation timelines.**
Executive Council reviews the Joint Committee’s final recommendations and
renders its final decision.**
** Within 15 work days of the Joint Committee’s and the Executive Council’s
final recommendation, the employee will receive a written notice of that
recommendation.
07/01/2014 Implementation of approved reclassifications and compensation alignment if
applicable.
Reclassification requests will be reviewed by the reclassification Joint Committee after winter break and during
the months of January, February, and March. The Reclassification Committee’s first task will be to pre-screen the
reclassification requests to determine whether or not the employee’s request for reclassification has met the
agreed upon minimum requirements for the process (Article 5.13.2, 5.13.2.a, and 5.13.2.b). If the request meets
the requirements, the employees will be contacted to schedule an optional interview meeting with the Joint
Committee. This interview will be your opportunity to discuss your application, to explain any pertinent examples
of how your job has changed over time, and to give the committee an opportunity to ask any questions they may
have about your position and job duties.
If you have any questions on the reclassification process, please contact your union
representative or the District Office of Human Resources at extension 2284.
