COUGAR PROMISE TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Congratulations! You have met the eligibility requirements for Cougar Promise and have been offered aid to assist in covering
your tuition and mandatory fees, as applicable. For your aid to apply to the fall and spring semester, you must sign this terms
and conditions form and upload it to your myUH self-service To Do List item titled ‘Cougar Prmise Terms&Conditionsby
the first day of class. Cougar Promise is a fall and spring program and does not include the summer term.

To receive the Cougar Promise you must meet the following guidelines:
Be an entering first-time freshman for fall semester with all required admissions documents submitted by January
15
Qualify as a Texas resident which includes students eligible to pay in state tuition under SB1528
Be an independent student or a dependent member of a household whose Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) is $65,000
or less, or between $65,001 to $125,000, as appropriate
Complete your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the Texas Application for State Financial Aid
(TASFA) and submit all requested financial aid forms with supporting documents by the State priority deadline of
January 15
Have demonstrated financial need preventing you from covering the cost of tuition and fees per federal and/or
state guidelines
Enroll and successfully complete at least 12 credits each term (Fall and Spring) at the University of Houston
Sign and upload this Cougar Promise Terms and Conditions form before the 1st day of class
To renew the Cougar Promise you must meet the following guidelines:
Received Cougar Promise in the previous year (both Fall and Spring terms)
Successfully completed at least 12 hours each term (Fall and Spring) in the previous year at the University of
Houston
Have a least a 2.5 cumulative GPA
Qualify as a Texas resident which includes students eligible to pay in state tuition under SB1528
Be an independent student or a dependent member of a household whose Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) is $65,000
or less, or between $65,001 to $125,000, as appropriate
Completed your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the Texas Application for State Financial
Aid (TASFA) and submit all requested financial aid forms with supporting documents by the State priority

Cougar Promise is renewable for up to four years (or five years for Architecture majors) and will not be extended beyond
this period. Cougar Promise assistance is subject to cancellation if you fail to meet the above requirements or exceed the
program period. By signing below, you are accepting the Cougar Promise terms and conditions stated above.
