APPLICATION TO PLACE TEMPORARY SIGNS
IN A PUBLIC STREET RIGHT-OF-WAY
The Council of the City of Poquoson has authorized the placement of temporary signs or posters relating to specific events,
including elections, in public street rights-of-way (i.e. non-paved areas immediately adjacent to the curbs of public roads),
provided the following conditions are met:
1. A permit fee of $5.00 is paid to the City of Poquoson, Department of Community Development.
2. An additional sum of $50.00 shall be deposited with the City of Poquoson, Department of Community Development.
This deposit shall be refunded when such sign(s) have been removed within the time limit prescribed.

ADDITIONAL RIGHT-OF-WAY SIGN REQUIREMENTS
Signs placed within a public right-of-way shall not be erected for more than 30 days prior to the indicated event date. Signs
must be removed within 7 days following the specified event date.
Signs shall that exceed four square feet in area or three feet above grade must be set back a minimum of 20 feet from the curb
or edge of pavement.
Signs signs shall not be erected within 200 feet of the following street intersections:
1. Wythe Creek Rd./Little Florida Rd./Victory Blvd.
2. Wythe Creek Rd./Poquoson Ave.
3. Yorktown Rd./Hunts Neck Rd.
4. Little Florida Rd./Poquoson Ave.
5. Victory Blvd./City Hall Ave.
