Community Engagement Internship Application (CEN 402)
Students who are interested in taking the CEN 402 Community Engagement Internship Seminar
should complete this application. PLEASE NOTE that CEN 200/201 Introduction to Community and
Civic Engagement is a prerequisite for the Internship Seminar.
FEATURES OF THE COURSE:
- Students complete 120 hours of supervised work experience in an approved community
agency or institution.
- Internship sites are chosen in cooperation with the CEN 402 Instructor before the start of the
semester.
- Students attend one-hour seminar meetings with the CEN 402 instructor throughout the
semester.
- Academic assignments will be completed per the course syllabus.
APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS:
- Submit competed application WITH a recent resume.
- Return the application to the current CEN 402 Instructor listed on the course description, or
email to fsce@ccsu.edu
IMPORTANT NOTES
- The CEN 402 Internship Seminar is a required course for the Minor in Community
Engagement and cannot be used in place of a separately required internship for an academic
major (or vice versa).
- Please be advised that some community internship sites may require a criminal background
check.
