CCTC Natural Resources Management Summer Camp
Policies & Procedures
Central Carolina Technical College’s Natural Resources Management (NRM) Summer Camp will be held at our
100-acre NRM campus on Brewington Rd. in Sumter. This five-day camp will allow students to learn more about
natural resources with hands-on activities that are educational, but fun! Some activities may include: nature
walks, plant and bird identification, water quality sampling, fish and aquatic identification, kayaking, plant
propagation, archery, and fishing. Activities will depend on weather and number of participants.
COURSE DATES & TIMES:
Camp #1: July 15-19, 2019
Camp #2: July 22-26, 2019
Each camp is Monday – Friday; 8:30am – 12:00pm. Camps are similar, but some activities will vary. Students may
attend both camps.
COST: $149/person/camp

LOCATION: NRM Campus: 735 Brewington Rd. (next to Sumter Airport)
SNACKS: Lunch will not be provided, but students will receive a snack mid-morning each day.
DROP-OFF/PICK-UP: Campers should not arrive earlier than 15 minutes prior to the start of camp. The campus
gates will not be open and parking is not available along the road. Campers must be picked up promptly at the
designated time the camp ends. Campers not picked up within 15 minutes after their camp ends will be charged
a late fee of $1 per minute. Unless staff is notified, students must be picked-up and dropped-off by the same
person each day.
DRESS CODE: Campers should dress appropriately for outdoor activities.
SAFETY & SECURITY: Please do not call/text the campers during camp hours. This may be disruptive or cause an
accident. CCTC is not responsible for the loss of personal items while on campus. Students will be outside the
majority of the camp and should bring bug spray and sunscreen.
DISRUPTIVE BEHAVIOR: Campers engaging in disruptive behavior that interferes with the camp will be sent
home. This includes, but is not limited to, inappropriate behavior, fighting, shoving or crude language.
ALLERGIES: Please notify staff if the camper has a food, or other allergy.
CANCELLATION POLICY: CCTC reserves the right to cancel any camp due to insufficient enrollment.
