Open Burning Permit
This permit is issued in accordance with the International Fire Code and Arizona Department of Environmental Quality-Air Pollution
Control. Failure to obtain a permit may result in a $500 citation issued for illegal burning.
REQUIREMENTS
Low wind conditions
Constant supervision while burning
Water under pressure available and accessible
Permit is valid for a maximum 14 calendar days and must be re-issued to extend longer

Burning shall be conducted during low wind conditions and during daylight hours only. Smoke visibility impairment on traveled roads
or airport to the extent that a safety hazard results, or otherwise creates a public nuisance, and when atmospheric conditions or local
circumstances make such fires hazardous, is prohibited.
Open burning of the following materials is forbidden: scrap lumber, garbage, asphalt shingles, oleanders, tar paper, plastic and rubber
products (such as tires and electrical wire insulation), waste petroleum products (such as waste crankcase oil, transmission oil and oil
filters), or any flammable/combustible hazardous materials or explosives.
This permit shall not be construed to relieve the Applicant from liability resulting from damages or the obligation to comply with
other applicable laws, regulations, or ordinances.
Person(s) conducting open burning authorized by this permit must have a copy of the permit on site during permitted open burning
operations.
Note: The Lake Havasu City Fire Department reserves the right to revoke this permit at any time for failure to follow the
requirements.
