Blower Door Test Requirements & Form
Attention Contractors and/or Owner Builder:
Blower Door Testing is a requirement in the Florida Building
Code for residential units. Any applications submitted after July
1, 2017, shall have blower door testing per Florida Building Code
Energy Conservation R402.4.1.2, as part of the inspection
process. Applicable permits: Residential; R-2, R-3 and R-4
buildings three (3) stories or less above grade plane.
You are hereby noticed of your requirement to comply with the
present code for this project. Blower door testing shall be
performed after creation of all penetrations of the building
envelope. Testing shall be conducted by an approved third party
and a written report shall be submitted to the Mechanical
Inspector prior to Mechanical Final Inspection.
