APPLICABILITY.This checklist should beusedwhensubmittinganapplicationforaZoningMap Amendment. The purpose ofa
zoningmapamendmentistopubliclyreviewachangetotheOfficialZoningMaptoensurethatitimprovestheimplementationof
theJackson/TetonCountyComprehensivePlan.
WhenisaZoningMapAmendmentapplicationrequired?
Azoningmapamendmentapplicationisrequiredforanyproposaltochangethezoningclassificationofaproperty,andtherefore
theapplicableLDRs.
DoIneedaPreApplicationConferencefirst?
APreApplicationConferenceisrequired
priortosubmittal.
POSTEDNOTICE.Theapplicantisresponsibleforpostingandmaintaininganoticeofthepublichearingonthelandsubjecttothe
application.Thepostednoticeshallmeetthefollowingstandards.
1. Content. The posted noticeshall contain the notice contentrequired by Subsection 1 above, exceptthe description of
thelocationofthelandsubjecttotheapplication.AtemplateisavailableintheAdministrativeManual.
2. Timing.Thenoticeshallbe
postedforatleast10dayspriortothehearing,andshallberemovedwithin5daysfollowing
thehearing.
3. Size.Thenoticeshallbe4ftby4ft.
4. LocationandLegibility.Anoticeshallbeplacedalongeachfrontlotlinesoastobelegible
fromeachaccesspointtothe
site.Thenoticemaybemountedtoabuilding.Ifthenoticeisfreestanding,itshouldbesetback2ftfromanylotlineor
accesseasement.
5. Materials.ThenoticeshallmeetthematerialsstandardsofDiv.5.6.andshallnotbelighted.
FINDINGS FOR APPROVAL.The application shall include a narrative statement addressing each of the applicable Findings for
Approval,foundinSection8.7.2,ZoningMapAmendment.
In deciding to adopt or deny a proposed zoning map amendment the Board of County Commissioners shall consider factors
including,butnotlimitedto,theextenttowhichtheproposedamendment:
1. IsconsistentwiththepurposesandorganizationoftheLDRs.

2. Improves implementation of the desired future character defined in the Illustration of Our Vision chapter of the
ComprehensivePlan.
3. Isnecessarytoaddresschangingconditionsorapublicnecessity.
4. IsconsistentwithotheradoptedCountyResolutions.
GENERALINFORMATION.
Response to PreApplication Conference Summary Checklist. During the preapplication conference, you will be
provided with a summary and checklist of applicable LDR standards and requirements that must be addressed for a
sufficientapplication.
Identification of Proposed Area of Amendment. Identify the property, properties, or areas where the change to the
zoningisproposed.
DescriptionofExistingConditions.Provideanarrativedescriptionoftheexistingconditionsontheaffectedproperties,
including existing physical development, existing uses, nonconformities, access, protected natural resources, and
neighboringlanduses.

Descriptionofthe Proposal.Specify the proposedzone for the property and the reason or purpose forrequesting the
rezoning.
