Required Information
1. Graduate of a high school on Virginia’s Eastern Shore.
2. New students must have graduated from high school with at least a 3.4 grade point
average (GPA). Students returning to ESCC must have a cumulative GPA of 3.4 or
higher.
3. Must be enrolled as a full-time student in an associate’s degree program at ESCC.
4. Attach an essay explaining your educational and career goals, including any plans to
pursue additional education beyond ESCC.
5. The Johnsen Presidential Scholars is an award of $5000.00 which can be used to cover
tuition, fees and educational supplies. Scholars will be required to be an ESCC Student
Ambassadors. As an Ambassador, you will be expected to support, promote and
represent ESCC at a minimum of four college and community functions during the
course of the academic year.
