ALL DOGS AND CATS residing in Anne Arundel County that are 6 months
of age or older must have an Anne Arundel County License.
Proof of a current rabies vaccination is required for licensing. PLEASE
ONLY SEND COPIES OF RABIES CERITIFICATES.
Anne Arundel County offers two (2) options for licensing, a one (1) year
and a (3) year license.
To obtain a one (1) year license only requires that the rabies vaccination
be current.
Senior or Disabled, Spayed or Neutered
Senior or Disabled, NOT Spayed or
Neutered
To obtain a three (3) year license the rabies vaccination must be a three
year vaccination that was given within the last three (3) months.

Proof of spay/neuter, senior or disabled status is required for license
discounts
You must be 60 years of age or older and must provide proof of
your date of birth (Senior)
Receive disability benefits (Disabled) as a result of a finding of
permanent and total disability under the Social Security Act or the
Railroad Retirement Act or by the United States Civil Service
Commission or the Veterans Administration.
A certificate of spay/neuter from a licensed veterinarian is
required for proof of spay/neuter.
For each dog or cat in a licensed kennel, the license fee is:
Kennel, Spayed or Neutered
Kennel, NOT Spayed or Neutered
Kennel, Senior or Disabled, Spayed or Neutered
Kennel, Senior or Disabled, NOT Spayed or Neutered

A license must be obtained within 10 days after the cat or dog
becomes 6 months old or within 30 days of moving into the county.
Licenses are renewed annually or every three years (depending on
the license obtained) for as long as the owner has the dog or cat.
A renewal notice will be sent when the license is due and all
applicable fees and updated rabies and altering certificates whenever
applicable, will be due on the last day of the month in which the
license was issued.
Failure to renew a license by the due date will result in a penalty of
$10.00 being added to the normal cost.
Upon payment of the license fee, a license shall be issued. A metal license
identification tag will be issued with the first license for an animal,
replacement tags can be purchased for $1.00. The metal license
identification tag shall be securely fastened to the dog or cat at all times
when off of the owner’s property.

Payments to Animal Control may only be made by Cash, Check or Money
Order. Check should be made payable to “Anne Arundel County.” Please
do not send cash through the mail. If obtaining a license in person at the
facility you may pay with a Credit Card. (No Credit Cards over the phone.)
Licenses can be obtained through the mail or in person at 411 Maxwell
Frye Rd, Millersville, MD 21108, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday
10:00A.M. – 3:00 P.M. and Wednesday 10:00 A.M. – 6:00 P.M.
