All applicants, except Career and College Promise applicants, must complete a Residency Determination request to
determine their tuition status, either in-state or out-of-state, prior to admission. Complete your Residency Determination

o APPLY FOR ADMISSION
Once the Residency Determination has been completed, visit www.coastalcarolina.edu/admissions. Select “Apply Now,” and
ll out the application. Print the Application Agreement Statement document.
o REQUEST OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS
Make arrangements for ofcial high school transcripts, showing proof of graduation or High School Equivalency scores,
which qualify as a high school equivalency certicate within the 50 states, to be sent to the Admissions Ofce.
If you have previously attended a college, university, or technical school, Coastal requires that you submit ofcial transcripts
from those educational institutions. Coastal Carolina Community College can accept a maximum of 39 transfer credit hours.
o JOINT SERVICE TRANSCRIPT
If active duty military or veteran, please submit your ofcial Joint Service Transcript (JST) by going to
https://jst.doded.mil/ofcial.html. Your JST is not considered ofcial until you have signed the JST Signature Page available
at a Military Off-Campus Sites location or Coastal’s Registrar ofce located on the main campus.
o MEET WITH AN ACADEMIC COUNSELOR
All prospective students are required to meet with a counselor as the nal step of the application process. The counselor will
help you choose a curriculum and discuss registration options.
o TAKE ANY REQUIRED PLACEMENT TESTS
Students who are eligible for placement testing may take a diagnostic assessment twice within a 10-year period.
o TUITION ASSSTANCE (TA)
If you’re active duty and utilizing TA, you will need to meet with an Education Assistance Branch Representative to identify
your required steps to obtain funding.
o APPLY FOR FINANCIAL AID
The college provides a number of nancial assistance programs, thereby ensuring educational opportunities for individual
students. Grants, scholarships, and employment opportunities are included in such programs. Start your process by going to
www.fafsa.gov. After completion, you will receive the next steps from Coastal’s Financial Aid Department before eligibility
can be determined.

If selected for verication, you will receive an email and a letter from the Financial Aid Ofce, asking to complete
verication.
Submit the required documents, in a timely manner, to the Financial Aid Ofce to complete verication.

Print out award letter, sign, and return to the Financial Aid Ofce.

Get a copy of your schedule signed by instructors, or complete the online verication for each online class. Turn into the

REFUNDS
Go to www.coastalcarolina.edu, select “MyCCCC” at the top right of page, log into your account, and select “Bank Mobile.
Follow prompts to set up your account to receive refunds from CCCC.

A student who graduated more than 10 years ago, from a foreign high school, or didnt
take a second math higher than Algebra I or Math I in high school will need to take the
RISE test.
RISE testing is by appointment. Appointments may be scheduled through a student’s
myCCCC portal and are available on main campus and Camp Lejeune.
A student who graduated from high school within the last 10 years will not take the
RISE test but be placed by their unweighted high school GPA.
