A health-related work-based learning experience that enables the student to apply
specialized occupational theory, skills, and concepts. Direct supervision is provided by
the clinical professional. A minimum grade of "C" is required to pass this course.

Additional Course Information
Topical Outline: Each offering of this course must include the following topics (be sure to include information regarding lab,
practicum, and clinical or other non-lecture instruction).
Students are expected to demonstrate selected competencies prior to attending off campus clinical setting. Success on
selected proficiency check-offs are mandatory to progress to the off site clinical setting. Students care for patients with
instructor guidance. Clinical settings are utilized for students to demonstrate application of theory and laboratory
concepts being taught in other courses. Students in this course are Level 3 third semester of program.
Course Learning Outcomes:
Learning Outcomes – Upon successful completion of this course, students will:
1. Apply the theory, concepts, and skills involving specialized materials, tools, equipment, procedures,
regulations, laws, and interactions within and among political, economic, environmental, social, and legal
systems associated with the occupation and the business/industry.
2. Demonstrate legal and ethical behavior, safety practices, interpersonal and teamwork skills and appropriate
written and verbal communication kills using the terminology of the occupation and the business/industry.
3. Demonstrate the behavior and judgements needed to successfully perform as a member of the profession,
provider of patient-centered care, patient safety advocate, and member of the health care team.
