Basic UNIX workstation administration. Includes installing a standalone system, adding
users, backing up and restoring file systems, and adding new printer support.
Emphasis on the procedures needed to perform system administration tasks.
Introduces the concept of the system and disk management.

Course Learning Outcomes:
Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, students will:
Manage user accounts; maintain system security; configure new devices; install and partition disk drives;
manage file systems; configure and schedule system related jobs; maintain print services; install the UNIX
operating system; administer software packages and patches; perform backup and recovery operations; and
solve user-related problems.
