Guidelines for the Law School Writing Requirement:
The paper is an individually authored work of rigorous intellectual effort of at least 20 typewritten, double
spaced pages, excluding footnotes… (Reg 1.4C). The professor must review and comment on at least one
draft, and the student must re-write the paper in accordance with the professor's comments. The professor
may establish additional requirements, such as submission of outlines, bibliographies and/or exchange of
multiple drafts.
Guidelines for Professional Skills Requirement:
Students are required to complete one or more course(s), totaling at least six units, designated as satisfying
instruction in professional skills. Skills courses are noted with the following symbol on the course schedule: §

Semesters in Residence:
Students are required to complete at least six semesters as a full-time student at an ABA approved Law
School. For students attending King Hall, full-time status equates to enrollment in ten or more units each
semester.

not included in the limits on elective units and/or transfer units:
