AUDIT REQUEST
You may enroll in credit-bearing courses on a non-credit credit basis as an auditor during the CAP period for a term. Any course
enrolled as an audit will not contribute towards the Furman degree and will not be used to compute your GPA. Additionally, an audited
course may not be used to fulfill prerequisites or any other academic requirements.
Students seeking to audit a course in which they have previously received credit (or the inverse, completing a course for credit after
auditing) must receive permission from both the course instructor and the appropriate department chair.
You must obtain permission of both the instructor and your advisor to audit a course. Before submitting a request, you must meet with
the instructor to agree on the explicit conditions required of the audit. Ordinarily, students who audit will do all assigned reading and
participate in class discussions, but will not be required to submit written work or take exams.
Satisfactory completion of an audit will be designated on your academic record, while unsuccessful attempts will not appear. Audit
requests must be submitted prior to the conclusion of the course adjustment period.
