✔PRE-CERTIFICATION CHECK LIST ✔
Listed below are a few points to check that will aid the inspection process (and must be addressed before
inspection) for the three most common Special Nursery Stock Inspection Certifications. If you have additional
questions or concerns, contact your local Arizona Department of Agriculture, Plant Services Division office.
Brown Garden Snail Certification (BGS)
⃞ Have you seen any snails on your property since your last certification inspection?
⃞ If so, can you provide treatment records for labeled products to control plant feeding snails?
⃞ Do you have a valid General Nursery Stock Certificate (a.k.a. Arizona Certified)? A BGS Certificate will
not be issued without one.
⃞ Is your General Nursery Stock Certification up-to-date? If not, contact your local ADA/PSD office to
make arrangements to renew your General Nursery Stock Certification.
Rose Mosaic Virus Certification (RMV)
⃞ Have you seen symptoms of rose mosaic virus in your fields? Circle one: Yes No
⃞ Irregular lines on leaves
⃞ Ring spots on leaves
⃞ Mottling on leaves
Ozonium Root Rot Certification (ORR)

Is your facility currently certified by the Manner Grown or Property Certification method?
⃞ Manner grown: (Soil/Container Barriers)
⃞ Are you using a certified soil or soil-less growing media?
⃞ Is all of your soil stored off of the ground using a concrete slab or other approved surface?
⃞ Are all of your barriers (of one or more listed below) in good condition?
⃞ Woven polypropylene barriers are in good condition with no rips.
⃞ Concrete slabs are in good shape and clean of surrounding soil.
⃞ Plants are on raised benches, platforms or elevated containers.
⃞ Gravel barriers are a minimum of two inches deep.
⃞ Property Certification: (cotton or alfalfa indicator crop)
⃞ Has your property increased in size since the original certification? If so, contact your local
ADA/PSD office.
⃞ Have you had any plants suddenly die that were planted in the ground during the hot summer
months for no apparent reason?
⃞ Have you seen dead plants with rotted root systems?
