TO A KANE COUNTY LANDMARK
A Certificate of Appropriateness from the Preservation Commission is required before any
significant alterations, exterior construction, exterior demolition or removal of exterior
materials or features that affects pending or designated landmarks or districts is undertaken. A
building permit cannot be issued for exterior work on a property protected by the Kane County
Historic Preservation Ordinance without first obtaining a Certificate of Appropriateness.
