Following are the rates for water usage: Minimum Base Rate for 2,000 gallons or less $265.59*; next 10,000 gallons, per 1,000 gallons, is
$3.25; next 18,000 gallons, per 1,000 gallons, is $4.50; and 30,000 gallons and over, per 1,000 gallons, is $5.00
*The minimum applicable monthly base rate is charged until the City is notified to pick up the meter.
Requirements for Use of a Fire Hydrant Meter
1. Only City personnel will install, relocate, or pick up a meter. There will be a charge of $30 for setting or
moving a fire hydrant meter. For customers who intentionally move meters from one location to another to
avoid the cost of setting up service at each location where they are working, a $150 fee will be charged. It
is the responsibility of the contractor to notify the City of Pasadena to pick up a meter.
2. Any fire hydrant meter that has a past due balance will be locked or removed until all bills are paid in full. If
removed, then a reset fee of $50 will be imposed.

Readings must be provided in writing to the City Water Billing Office on the 25th day of each month or a
$150 penalty may result.
4. It will be the responsibility of the contractor to ensure the proper use and care of the meter while in their
possession.
5. If anyone is found taking water from a fire hydrant without using a meter provided by the City, theft of
service charges will be filed with the police department.
6. In case a meter is reported as lost or stolen, there will be a charge of $500.00 to replace such meter; this
amount will be deducted from your deposit.
