Roofing and Siding Permit Fees are assessed based on construction value at a rate of:
$30.00 plus $5.00 per $1000 of construction value or fraction thereof

A 2% State Levy will be assessed on the permit fees listed above.
Exterior Insulation Finishing Systems (EIFS)
Any EIFS system installed requires additional documentation to be completed by a certified installer.
Commercial Reroof/Siding Jobs
Any alterations to commercial building constructed prior to 1985 require an asbestos test report from a
licensed testing agency prior to the issuance of a permit.
Residential Reroof/Siding Jobs
Defective Materials & Fire Separation: I, ________________________________, representing
________________________ verify the property at __________________________________ displays no
evidence of rotting wood visible from the attic area (for roofs), exterior of the building (for siding), and
exhibits no visual defects. If defective materials are found, they will be corrected and inspected prior to
covering. Fire retardant treated plywood shall not be utilized or replaced in assemblies with a fire resistive
rated construction within four (4) feet on either side of the firewall. Consult the building code or contact our
office for alternative methods. All work shall be done in accordance with all applicable codes and
ordinances.
Asbestos Certification: I, ____________________________, certify that the property at
__________________________________________ has been inspected for asbestos and complies with
the Code of Virginia, Section 54.1-503, of the Uniform Statewide Building Code, Section 108.10, the “Clean
Air Act” (NESHAP) and OSHA “Standards for Construction Workers”, Environmental Protection Agency
(EPA), Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act, or exempted as noted in the exemptions below:
Single Family Dwellings Residential housing with four or fewer units
A $5.00 Technology is assessed on all permits.
